Welcome to MahaLough Designs, the home of fabulous custom beadwork by Pam Miller Lough.
For most of my life, I have worked in a busy office environnment. I loved the pace of business, and I was fortunate to have the opportunity to work with people I liked very much. But change came rather suddenly when my husband was offered a new job out of state. It was a great opportunity for him, and would mean I could stay at home with our two children. It was with mixed feelings that I left my job and dear friends behind and started life in the midwest.
With change often comes an opportunity to do something totally different. I decided it was time for me to explore my creative side, and I took classes in stained glass design, lampwork bead making, and jewelry design. Though I loved lampworking, the cost of setting up shop was beyond my reach. Designing jewelry became my new passion, and I have been experimenting with it ever since.
It is fortunate that I decided to focus on jewelry design rather than lampworking as it is much more portable! We were transferred again within two years, and are now living in Southern California.
MahaLough Designs focuses on an elegant and upscale design. Though my pieces are not complex, you will see that the elements of each of my designer pieces are unique. I like to focus on the individual elements that go into each design. I find handmade lampwork beads, natural elements, such as high quality pearls, lapis, turquoise and malachite, and Swarovski crystals, and sterling silver are the most fitting for my style.
